Construction Company - Project Scheduling and Management
Here we use Multi Project Planner as a construction management tool.
The schedule is from a company doing residential construction.
The planning problems are:
- Can we deliver a building within a given time frame? (Just in Time scheduling)
- What are the overall consequences of one activity being delayed? (Adjusting the plan)
In the work team schedule (the upper one) the activities of a project share the same color, i.e. the orange bars represents activities belonging to the project with the short name 'P4'.
The bars in the employee schedule (the middle one) represents work hours. Blue bars are assigned an activity and orange duties are free.
The Resource Situation View shows the demand and supply for resources.
This view can be fine tuned to show the demand and supply situation for categories of resources.
Focusing on a single project and its interrelationships is done setting the schedule in Gantt chart mode.
