Hospital Department

In this case we use Task·Planner to create the roster hospital department.

The scheduling problem of the hospital department is highly complex. Issues that must be addressed are:

• Some functions must be available 24 hours, 365 days a year.
• Rutine jobs may have to be rotated among doctors of equal experience and skills.
• Less experienced doctors must be trained and backed up by more experienced ones.
• Jobs have qualification demands. They may be even have a priority list of qulification demands.
• Formation of teams in order to reduce the number of different doctors a patient has to see.

This plan is from a hospital department with 24 doctors.

In the activity schedule (the upper one) a blue bar represents an activity, to which a resource is assigned.

The initials of the resource is listed within or aside the bar.

The bars in the resource schedule (the lower one) respresents duties. Blue duties are assigned an activity and gray duties are free.
