Materials Management in Multi Project Planner
The Materials Management facility of Multi Project Planner enables you to register a list of material requirements pr activity and through warning flags ensures a timely ordering of the activities.
The Materials Management facility will help you to ensure that the material is on site when needed.
The picture below shows the materials requirements for a single activity.
Material providers
To a material you may register one or more providers.
At each provider you register the cost and delivery time span pr material.
These information is used to:
- Prioritize the providers. Multi Project Planner automatically selects the provider with the highest priority.
- Calculate ordering time. A flag is raised on an activity if ordering is due.
Ordering procedure
Multi Project Planner keeps track of the materials, which needs ordering at any point in time.
To each column a 'Material orders' function is attached.
The 'Material orders' creates orders based on the material requirements needing ordering at the date the column represents.
Orders can be printed and/or e-mailed to the provider in which case the order is registered as ordered.
Finally an order is be registered as delivered in which case the order is deleted and the material requirement is registered as delivered.
The ordering status can be monitored in the materials requirements dialog shown above.
