Installation
Is Multi Project Planner a multi user system?
Yes.
When may install Multi Project Planner select a folder on a common server where the database is to be located.
As Multi Project Planner has only one global plan, only one user at a time can modify the plan. The others can see the plan.
The first user to log on can modify the plan.
Can I move the program from one machine to another.
Yes. But you are not entitled to make a copy of registered version.
Work Teams
I have a work team where the leader only wants to work together with a distinct set colleagues. How?
Fill the "Preferred Employees" list at the work team with those employees, that can work together.
The automatic resource allocation routine will only pick employees from this list, provided they got the necessary
competencies.
I have a work team where the leader can work together with every one except A and B. How?
Fill the "Preferred Employees" list at the work team with all employees and then remove A and B from the list.

I am running a consultancy company, where the teams are structured around the senior consultants and the other assignments vary from task to task. How do I accomplish that?.
Create a Work Team for every senior consultant, name the Work Team after the consultant and add the consultant
to the preferred employees list at the work team. This way only the senior consultant will be assigned to the task automatically.
Assign the rest of the team manually by dragging the employees onto the task.
Employees
Can an employee participate in several activities simultaneously?
Yes
You can assign an employee a part of the day to one activity, another part to another activity etc.
Can I use employees as machines.
Yes.
Can an employee register working hours on several activities the same day.
Yes.
Resource allocation
Will the automatic resource allocation do any resource levering
No. If it can not allocate sufficient resources to an activity, it will raise a flag on that activity, which in addition will inform you of the percentage af allocated resources.
Moving an activity from one work team to another does not seem to change the competence requirements of the activity. Do I have to do that manually.
That is correct. You will have to assign the employees manually or change the competence requirements of the activity.
We do not want the program to be too smart as this could cause the user to loose track of want is going on.
Edit Plan
I want to move only a part of a the project activities, not all of them.
Set the plan in Gantt mode by selecting the project you want to edit and press the Gantt button in the Project List window.
Fix the first project activity in the path of relative constraints, that lead to those activities you do not want to move.
A project activity is fixed by selecting "Set fixed" in the popup menu associated with the project activity.
Can I make relative constraints between activities belonging to different projects.
No.
Which plans should I create.
You should create one master plan spanning a reasonable period.
When the period needs to change, i.e. move forward, change the period of the plan, i.e. roll it ahead.
You can make other plans aimed at special purposes. One customer has an additional one week plan, which is used
to communicate the plan to the employees.
