In this step the work teams and resources will be added to the plan.
The very first time any plan is created we have to add the work teams and the resources to the plan, mirroring the organization as it looks at the start of the plan period. Next time a plan is created this step is not necessary.
To setup the plan for the first time follow this procedure:
- The first step in setting up the plan is creating a new plan, stating is name and period. When we open the plan it is empty.
- The second step is to open the work team catalog and start dragging work teams onto the left part of the activity schedule. A little green arrow will indicate where the task will be placed. In this case we will build a hierarchical work team structure mirroring the organization, as it eases our perception of the schedule. A work team can be present in the plan several times.
- The third and final step is to open the resources catalog and drag resources onto the left part of the work hour schedule.
