Gantt Chart of a template project

The following video illustrates creating a template project by drawing its gantt chart and creating relative constraints.
The manipulations is done in the gantt chart of a template project, but the same manipulations can be done in the schedule itself.

Before we start drawing activities in the gantt chart, rows representing the capacities, productions facilities or tasks, which the project will need, has to be added to the gantt chart.
This is done by dragging the capacities from the "Capacity types" dialog onto the left side of the gantt chart.
Of cause they can be added on demand when needed.

To create activities, select the pen in the toolbar and simply draw activities on the gantt chart.

To create relative constraints press the Gantt chart button in the toolbar. Now you can draw arrows, indicating dependencies, from the small white rectangles on the predecessor to the successor.

In this example, we set the successors to start no sooner than the end of the predecessor and no later than a week after the end of the predecessor.
The latter restraint on the successor is a political decision, based on the policy that no customer should experience her/his building project come to a standstill.
Multi Project Planner keeps tracks on these little things, when you manipulate the plan, thereby making project management simpler in a multi project scenario.

In this example we do not work at weekends. Multi Project Planner has been configured to automatically take care of this fact. This can be done for special days, holidays etc.
That way you don't have think about it, when manipulation the plan. But you may always override it.
