Just in Time Scheduling

The following video illustrates Multi Project Planner's "Just in Time" scheduling in a multi project scenario.

A new house is to be build with completion no later than week 6.

The template project "Type 124" is dragged onto the schedule.

We have grabbed the template in its "Roofing" activity, as it is the latest to be finished and placed it in week 6, where the project is to be finished.

Now we activate the Best fit monitor by clicking the F5 button and start dragging the template to the left.

The Best fit monitor keeps track of where the optimum peek was first encountered.

This will be the optimum closest to the delivery date, and that is where we will drop the template.

By the way the Best fit monitor works the other way around if you drag to the right. i.e. forward scheduling.
